About Us

At Elevate Life Psychiatry, we go beyond medication. We combine integrative psychiatry, lifestyle optimization, and personalized coaching to help you take back control of your life and social well-being.

How We’re Different

You won’t find rushed appointments or one-size-fits-all care here. Our sessions are designed to feel like conversations, not checklists. We work together to uncover what’s holding you back—and what’s possible when you’re supported the right way.

This is your space to be seen, heard, and understood.

David Osuji

Board-Certified Psychiatric
Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Meet David Osuji, PMHNP-BC
Founder of Elevate Life Psychiatry

Hi, I’m David.

I help people reconnect with themselves and take back control of their lives. I’m a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, but more than that—I’m someone who genuinely enjoys seeing people grow. Born in Nigeria and raised there until I was 13, I finished middle school, high school, and college in the U.S. Navigating life between two cultures taught me just how universal emotional pain is—and how often it goes unspoken.

My Journey to Psychiatry

Even after nursing school, I didn’t fully grasp how deeply mental health shapes every part of our lives. But working in Neuro ICU and behavioral health units—and witnessing struggles among loved ones—opened my eyes. Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress aren’t just clinical conditions. They’re life interruptions. That insight drove me to return to school and specialize in psychiatric care.

My Treatment Philosophy: Whole Person Care

Mental health isn’t just brain chemistry. It’s life chemistry. We take an integrative, evidence-based approach that looks at the full picture:

  • Mind: Thought patterns, emotional habits, and beliefs
  • Body: Sleep, nutrition, exercise, bloodwork, and physical health
  • Life: Relationships, stress, daily routines and your unique environment

Medication can be part of the process—but it’s never the only solution.

What To Expect In Our Work Together

  • A warm, judgment-free conversation
  • Baseline lab work and lifestyle assessment
  • Encourage lifestyle modification and getting back to basics of health
  • Natural Supplements and vitamins as indicated
  • Genetic testing if you’ve had medication failures
  • Collaboration—not pressure
  • Ongoing support and life skill-building

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with adults (ages 18–65) who feel stuck—whether due to anxiety, low self-worth, lack of direction, or social disconnection. I’m especially passionate about helping young adults in their 20s build structure, confidence, and emotional resilience during one of life’s most transitional stages.

While I work with clients of all genders, I have a special interest in men’s mental health. Many men struggle silently with emotional suppression, isolation, anger and pressure to perform—often without the tools or space to process what they’re feeling. I create a supportive environment where these challenges can be addressed head-on, with honesty, clarity, and practical strategies.

If you’ve tried medication alone and it wasn’t enough, I offer something more: a comprehensive, integrative approach that includes coaching, skills training, and personalized support to help you move forward with confidence.

A Bit More About Me

I’m a husband and proud dad to a little girl who lights up my world. In my free time, I love to read, learn, and explore new ways to grow—both for myself and for the people I care for. I’m always improving my knowledge of mental health, so the care you receive will continually evolve too.

Let’s Begin Your Journey

I currently offer telehealth services across Texas and in-person services in Garland, Texas. Services are cash-pay.

If you’re ready to do the work—mentally, emotionally, and physically—I’d be honored to walk that path with you. Let’s start your healing together.

“David is laid-back, honest, and real.”“I felt heard without being judged.”“David doesn’t just medicate—he motivates.”
